Value of 360 Feedback for Leadership Development

360 feedback involves methodically gathering feedback on a person's performance from a different people, including peers, direct reports, the boss, and even people outside the company, such as clients or suppliers. The objective is to build a picture of how the person is seen by others, a map of perceived strengths and weaknesses, and a springboard for coaching and ongoing development. Senior executives are most likely to gain. A person becomes more isolated from the constructive criticism that dependable colleagues offer in the course of their daily work, the higher up the leadership ladder they move.
